Natick Youth Lacrosse 2020 Boys Summer Program

Dear Natick Lacrosse Families;

I hope your family has been staying safe during these trying times.  I know this has not been the spring/summer any of us have imagined.  But hopefully this message will bring some good news to NYL families.

As you may know, we are in Phase 3 of the Commonwealth’s Re-opening.  Lacrosse was designated as a Higher Risk activity under the current guidelines.  Sports at this rating are currently limited to no-contact workouts, aerobic conditioning, individual skill work and drills.

With this in mind, we will be offering a free 5-week boys lacrosse skills and drills summer program starting Thursday July 30.  We will be offering 2 practices a week (Thursdays: 6 – 7 pm, and Sundays: 5 – 6 pm).  Practice will be held on the JV and Varsity soccer fields adjacent to the High School turf field.  Given the time of year and nature of the practices, only helmets, gloves and sticks are required.

We have worked with the town Board of Health to set specific guidelines that must be followed in order to protect the players, coaches and family members to the greatest extent possible.  In addition, there is a waiver that must be filled out prior to any participation.  Waivers can be sent back to me via email or dropped off at the first practice you attend.

Given the nature of these times, we need to have exact numbers of players and spectators for each practice so we can plan accordingly.  Therefore, your player and any spectators of the practice will be required to fill out a “Natick Lacrosse – Pre-Practice Self Checklist” prior to each practice

I know this may seem like a lot, but the safety of our players, coaches and NYL families is our highest priority.

Given the limitations of practice structure and the requirements of social distancing, we may have to resort to putting players on a waiting list for any given practice.  However, it will be our goal to try to provide a spot each practice for all those who wish to participate in the safest way possible.

Natick Youth Lacrosse 2020 Spring Season Payment Options

Dear Natick Lacrosse Families;

Thank you for your patience as we have worked through the procedure regarding your 2020 spring season payments.  Please read this entire email as there are several options for you regarding how you would like to manage your 2020 spring payment.  As we previously stated, we have a few different options for you to choose from:

  1. Apply any 2020 spring fees paid to your 2021 spring registration.  Whether you just paid a down payment or made the full payment, the entirety of these payments will be credited to your 2021 registration.
  2. Full refund of any 2020 spring fees paid.  We are working with our vendor to see if these amounts can be directly credited back to the card you used for payment.  If not, you will receive a check from the program.
  3. Donate any 2020 spring fees paid to Natick Youth Lacrosse.  The program is a tax-exempt entity, so donations should be tax deductible.  However, you should consult with your personal tax advisor to determine how you should treat any such donation.
  4. Apply any 2020 spring fees paid to the Natick Youth Lacrosse on-line auction.  You can use the money paid to bid on on-line auction items that will benefit the program.  Any amounts not used in the on-line auction will be donated to the program.  The on-line auction date and bidding procedures will be announced shortly.  The program is a tax-exempt entity, so donations should be tax deductible.  However, you should consult with your personal tax advisor to determine how you should treat any such donation.

To make the process as easy as possible for and to allow the program to capture all the necessary information in one place, we have set up each of these options within the registration system on the Natick Youth Lacrosse website.  You will register for your selection similar to registering for any other Natick Youth Lacrosse program.

  1. Go to “Register Online” on the left side of this homepage;
  2. In the drop-down menu, select [Boys/Girls] Spring Programs;
  3. Scroll down to the option you would like to select for the 2020 spring fees;
  4. Register your information.

You should receive a conformation email once you register.  PLEASE save this email as a record of your selection.

You can direct any questions you may have around this procedure to:

Jamie Kittler, Natick Youth Lacrosse treasurer

Thanks again.

Dear Natick Lacrosse Families;

It is with great sadness that we report the Natick Youth Lacrosse Girl’s and Boy’s spring 2020 season for both classic and select have been cancelled. Given Governor Baker’s announcement on Tuesday, The Founders Lacrosse league (Girl’s Program) and Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (Boy’s Program) had no other choice but to cancel the spring season.  Our hearts break for your kids (and for our coaches) who work hard and look forward to the season each year, especially those 8th graders hoping for one final season of youth sports.  Rest assured, we are looking into ways to offer you all some more Lax over the coming summer and fall.

As many of you have inquired about your registrations fees, we want to let you know we are providing options to families on how to address the fees already paid.

For grades K-7:

1.      Full credit for 2020 payments to the 2021 season (preferred)

2.      Full refund of all monies paid to NYL

3.      Credit toward auction items (as we move our postponed fundraiser online)

For 8th graders:

1.      Full refund of all monies paid to NYL

2.      Donate money paid to NYL.  (As a non-profit Org, we are partially funded by donations)(1)

3.      Credit toward auction items (as we move our postponed fundraiser online)

Again, we understand this is a big disappointment for us all, so over the coming weeks you can expect hear more details from us on the following:

1. In the coming week we will advise on the process to communicate your choices above regarding your fees to NYL.

2. In the next few weeks you will receive information about the fundraiser that was cancelled March 13 (March Laxness) being moved online.

3. In the next month or two we hope to have more information on additional options to play lacrosse over the summer and or Fall thru Natick Youth Lacrosse.

Thank you all for your continued support and Please be safe!
